Forwarding a RingCentral (RingEX) number

Set forwarding from the RingCentral app or the Admin Portal. Both paths take about 2 minutes.

RingCentral (now called RingEX) lets you forward calls from the RingCentral app for your own extension, or from the Admin Portal for any user on your account. Here's how to do both.

Step-by-step — RingCentral app (your own extension)

•Open the RingCentral desktop or web app.

•Click your profile picture in the top left.

•Click Call rules.

•Click Forward all calls.

•In the Incoming calls dropdown, select Forward the call.

•Click Number and enter the 365 Agents number we assigned you.

•Click Save.

To stop forwarding, flip the toggle off on the same page.

Step-by-step — Admin Portal (any user on your account)

Super Admins and Phone System Admins can set forwarding for another user. Handy when you're setting up your receptionist or a front-desk line to roll to the AI:

•Sign in to the RingCentral Admin Portal at service.ringcentral.com.

•Go to Users and pick the user whose line you want to forward.

•Click Phones & NumbersCall Handling & Forwarding.

•Add the 365 Agents number as a forwarding destination and turn it on.

•Save.

Scheduling-based forwarding

If you want calls to ring your team during business hours and roll to the AI after hours, use Custom rules in Call Handling. You can set a specific time-of-day and day-of-week schedule that routes calls to the 365 Agents number only outside business hours.

Forwarding during an internet outage

RingCentral also supports automatic forwarding when your phone or office loses internet — so you don't miss calls during an outage. Admins can configure this under each user's deskphone settings. Pointing the outage fallback at your 365 Agents number means your AI agent picks up even when your office is offline.

To turn forwarding off

In the app: back to Call rulesForward all calls, change the dropdown back to Ring my extension.

Your forwarding destination

Your forwarding destination is the 365 Agents number we assigned you during setup. You'll find it in your dashboard under Numbers.
